Project description
The purpose of this st udy is to demonstrate the capability of participating laboratories in measuring pesticides in a relatively simple food matrix (e.g. fruit juice). Carbofuran and endosulfan sulfate were selected as the measurand s in this study. Codex Alimentarius Commission (CODEX) set maximum residue levels (MRLs) of carbofuran at from 0.01 to 1 mg/kg and endosulfan at from 0.02 to 5 mg/kg for various primary food commodities of plant origin.
The r eference values for the pesticides provided by GLHK were used as the assigned values for evaluating the performance of the participants in this PT programme . The relevant Calibration and Measurement Capabilities (CMCs) of GLHK on organochlorine pesticides are registered in the BIPM Key Comparison Database (KCDB). The standard deviation for proficiency assessment was derived from the Horwitz Equation.
