APMP-APAC Joint Proficiency Testing Programme
APMP member institutes are welcome to submit joint PT proposals to the PTWG. The process begins with a formal presentation of the design and plans for the programme by the Coordinating Institute(s) to the PTWG. The proposed PT programme should be of interest to both potential and emerging APMP metrology institutes intending to develop new measurement capabilities in the area as well as testing/calibration laboratories in the Asia Pacific region. Priorities will be given to those proposals which are designed based on imminent needs identified by APMP and APAC. The PTWG will forward the potential joint PT proposals to the APAC PT Sub-Committee for further evaluation. Upon receiving approval for the proposed PT programme to be run as a joint PT, the Coordinating Institute(s) may then launch the programme by formally inviting metrology institutes through APMP network and testing laboratories through APAC’s network. The Coordinating Institute(s) are strongly encouraged to follow the requirements of ISO/IEC 17043 Conformity assessment — General requirements for proficiency testing for the organisation of the joint PT programmes.
A PT report which details the performance evaluation, technical discussions on methodologies and evaluation of measurement uncertainty and suggested areas for improvements will be provided to all participating institutes and laboratories. All final PT reports will be reviewed by the PTWG and the APAC PT Sub-Committee.
