World Metrology Day Singapore 2026

On this UNESCO World Metrology Day 2026, we celebrate the essential role of metrology in building trust in policy making. Accurate, traceable and internationally recognised measurements provide the foundation for evidence-based decisions that support innovation, fair trade, public safety, sustainability and societal confidence.
As technologies and global challenges become increasingly complex, trusted measurements are more important than ever. National Metrology Institutes, together with the international metrology community, play a vital role in ensuring that policies and regulations are underpinned by reliable scientific evidence that is comparable across borders and trusted by industry and society.
On behalf of the Asia Pacific Metrology Programme (APMP), I would like to thank all metrologists, researchers, industry partners and stakeholders for their continued contributions in advancing measurement science and strengthening international collaboration. Together, we continue to build a more trusted, resilient and sustainable future through metrology.
Dr Gregory Goh
Chairperson, Asia Pacific Metrology Programme (APMP)
