The APMP Energy Efficiency Focus Group, together with CMS/ITRI, organized the “Green Energy Symposium – Metrology, Testing, and Certification” in Taiwan. The event attracted 117 participants from 14 economies, including international experts, government, industry, and academia, underscoring strong regional commitment to sustainable energy.
The symposium opened with remarks from Taiwan’s Vice President, BSMI, and APMP chairperson, highlighting the crucial role of metrology in enabling net-zero strategies and ensuring trust in renewable energy systems. Technical sessions covered hydrogen policy and infrastructure, solar PV innovations, energy storage, EV charging, and harmonized certification standards. Experts from TÜV SÜD, TÜV Rheinland, KRISS, and local universities shared advancements on hydrogen fueling, photovoltaics, and power quality.
Participants also toured ITRI’s award-winning green building, gaining insights into practical applications of sustainable design and technology. An accompanying exhibition showcased innovative products ranging from solar and storage systems to hydrogen devices, fostering industry engagement.
The symposium strengthened stakeholder collaboration across the Asia-Pacific, aligned measurement standards with energy priorities, and advanced technical capabilities in areas such as hydrogen metrology and electrical testing. It provided valuable capacity-building opportunities for developing NMIs, laying a foundation for future APMP initiatives in green energy measurement and certification.
