Throughout the week, from June 16 to 18, the meetings took place at the Hsinchu Ambassador Hotel, including the Executive Committee (EC) Meeting, the Technical Committee Chairs (TCC) Meeting, Technical Committee and the Focus Group Chairs (TC&FG Chairs) Meetings, the Developing Economies Committee (DEC) Meeting, and the EC and Committee Chairs (EC-CC) Meetings. These gatherings served as platforms for active discussions and decision-making processes, aimed at the continued development and future direction of APMP.

The Advance Semiconductor Metrology Forum and the Green Energy Symposium were two of the standout events that took center stage during this year's Mid-Year Meetings.

On June 17, the Advance Semiconductor Metrology Forum (ASMF) took place at the ITRI Kuang-Fu Campus, marking the origin of ITRI, where the institute's journey began in 1973. The forum focused on advanced measurement technologies for semiconductor manufacturing processes, especially as traditional measurement methods reach their limits. Dr. Wei-En Fu, former EC Member of APMP, presented on “Semiconductor Focus Group in APMP Area.”

The forum gathered experts from industry, academia, and national institutes to discuss solutions for advanced semiconductor nodes (2nm and below). Through technical presentations and discussions, ASMF fostered dialogue on the development of measurement technologies to meet the challenges of next-generation semiconductor technologies.

On June 19, the Green Energy Symposium – Metrology, Testing and Certification was held at the Central Taiwan Innovation Center (CTIC), a venue perfectly suited to the symposium’s focus on sustainable energy. Participants had the opportunity to tour this fitting venue, which features cutting-edge green architecture, including natural ventilation, over 3,300 solar shading panels, green rooftops, and rainwater recycling systems.

The Green Energy Symposium, organized by the Energy Efficiency Focus Group (EEFG), centered on the technologies and innovative approaches, especially focusing on key topics such as solar photovoltaic (PV) technologies, electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and hydrogen energy. The event highlighted the essential role of advanced measurement and certification processes in ensuring the reliability and performance of these emerging green technologies.

On the final day of the meetings, participants had the chance to explore six of ITRI's advanced labs. They toured cutting-edge labs which featured Nanometrology, Automated Optical Inspection, Silicon-Sphere kg Standard, Calibration System for Coordinate Measuring Machines, Quantized Hall Resistance Standard Lab, and Acoustic Gas Thermometry, gaining valuable insights.

Meanwhile, following the technical tour, participants took part in a cultural tour where they experienced a Lei Cha tea ceremony, a traditional Hakka custom. Everyone enjoyed preparing their own tea, blending tea leaves with grains, which added a fun and interactive element to the cultural experience. It was a fragrant, hearty, and delightful way to close the week, providing a deeper connection to Hakka culture.

Looking back on the insightful sessions and meaningful discussions, the 2025 Mid-Year Meetings highlighted the immense power of our collective action. The diverse perspectives exchanged underscored our shared determination to push the boundaries of metrology. These conversations not only solidified our foundation for future collaborations but also strengthened the cohesion of our global network, setting the stage for the next chapter of innovation and cooperation.

Looking ahead, the 41st APMP General Assembly will take place from November 21 to 28, 2025, at Songdo Convensia, Incheon, Korea. The upcoming GA will be held entirely in person, offering a valuable opportunity for APMP colleagues to gather once again. It will be a time to reflect on our shared history, honor our past achievements, and continue shaping the future of metrology together.
We look forward to seeing everyone in Incheon
